In 2017 we will celebrate our first 150 years as a country and this book will attempt to capture some of the spirit of what it is to be Canadian. This concept of a Canadian identity has eluded thinkers and writers for over 100 years and we know that the quest will not end within the pages of this book. But as you thumb through we hope you will gain new insights into why we are so fortunate to live in a country that is so often placed at, or near, the top of most lists of the finest places to live on Earth. It has been suggested that Donald Trump should amend his pledge to; Make America great again, just like Canada, the country named "Top Country to Visit in 2017" by Lonely Planet.
